Beauty serums for under $15

Beauty serums under $15

When I came across The Ordinary beauty serums I was excited to try out a few.  The brand is anything by ordinary. At an average of 6-$10 per serum I couldn’t believe the prices. So I filled my online cart with four but eventually narrowed my purchase down to two. I figured I should start off with the most popular and move up from there. As beauty product junkies, sometimes we have to rein in the amount of products we try at once… sometimes.

I’ve been using the Hyaluronic Acid 2% in the mornings and the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed
Rose Hip Seed Oil before bed. There’s a noticeable difference in the texture of my skin. I love the way it feels in the morning after using the Rose Hip Seed Oil.

The Ordinary serums are made by Canadian beauty brand Deciem which specializes in advanced functional beauty. The self-proclaimed “abnormal beauty company” takes a different approach to skincare. Many skincare brands have high price tags on serums and creams but the real cost of the ingredients are fairly inexpensive.  It makes you think about what you’re actually paying for. To put it in perspective, Brandon Truaxe, creator of Deciem, says that “very high purity niacinamide costs under $10 per kilogram and so the cost of all materials in Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is under $1” (source). So paying $6 for a serum sounds very reasonable to me. Compare that to the $68 one I normally buy.

For anti-aging try the Advanced Retinoid 2%, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Vitamin C Suspension 23%, and Hyaluronic Acid 2%. The website details the ingredients and benefits of each serum.

For blemishes and congestion, check out the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%.
